In this work, we are going to present the rank of the 50 largest insurance companies in world by total assets, which still remains today, one of the most widely used indicators for comparing insurance with each other. Let’s now see the 50 largest insurance companies in world by assets.
In the ranking of the 50 largest insurance companies in the world by assets, there are 17 US companies, 9 Japanese, 4 Chinese, 4 British, 4 Swiss, 3 German, 3 Canadian, 3 Taiwanese, 2 French, 2 Dutch, 1 Korean, 1 Italian, 1 Indian and 1 Hong Kong.
In the top of the ranking of the largest insurance companies in world by assets is Ping An Insurance with 1.251 billion USD in assets. In the second place is Allianz SE with 1.144 billion USD in assets, followed by Prudential Financial with about 915 billion USD in assets. AXA S.A. is fourth and Berkshire Hathaway Inc fifth.
In the last three places of the ranking of the largest insurance companies in world by assets there are Chubb Ltd with 181 billion USD, People’s Insurance Co (Group) of Chinawith 179 billion USD and USAA (United Services Automobile Assoc.) with 174 billion USD.
